Customize me

T-shirt - YR at Topman, Leather Gilet - Topman, Jeans - Topman, Boots - H by Hudson, Stud Necklace - Accessorize, Beanie - Topman

Topman Oxford Circus currently have this really cool little pop up space, that allows you to customize your own t-shirt. First you use the touch screen to design your all over print, once you're done, within 10 minutes you will have your one of a kind t-shirt printed ready for you to wear! It's such a good idea and great for getting a custom designed t-shirt that nobody else will have. It's reasonably priced too! I used an architectural print for the background of the t-shirt, then layered a triangle design over it. Feeling quite grungy I styled my tee with a leather gilet, acid wash jeans, a beanie and chunky boots. For more info about the pop up go to

Dark Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone! It's Christmas day, so I thought I'd post my '12 Wants of Christmas'. These are all things that would be on my ideal Christmas list (If Santa had an unlimited budget to buy me Christmas presents). And they all happen to be black, probably the Grinch in me.

  1. Horace 'Terry' Leather Jacket - I love the detailing on this leather jacket. The beached contrast sleeves give this jacket that extra bit of interest
  2. Rick Owens Cow Hide Boots - Just pure amazingness in a boot. Do I really need to say more?
  3. Versace Sheer Swirl Print Swim Shorts - Spotted these in work the other day. If they go into sale I may have to invest, as I really need a pair of swim shorts for the summer (As I don't have any) and these are really freaking cool!
  4. Surface To Air Asteroid Derby - The one and only bit of colour on my list. I've wanted a pair of holographic shoes for ages. It's so unfair that there are so many high street versions for women, and this is the only pair I can find for men! They are beautiful though, if a tad out of my price range.
  5. Zana Bayne Orion Harness - Zana Bayne is a leather genius! I would love to own one of her harnesses
  6. Yang Li Leather Shirt - Who doesn't need a leather shirt in their life?
  7. Gareth Pugh Cape Jeans - I can picture so many outfits with these jeans. The cape detail give them that extra little grunge element that I love.
  8. J.W.Anderson Sheer Floral Shirt - This shirt is stunning.
  9. Yohji Yamamoto Half Skirt - Another spot from work. This was on the mannequins during the Trend Monsters scheme in work and I fell in love with it.
  10. 3.1 Phillip Lim Neoprene Zip Sweat - Yet again another item I noticed in work. I need to get a job that doesn't make me want to shop all the time. This year I will definitely be investing in a neoprene sweater
  11. Mugler cropped shorts - The sexiest shorts ever made?
  12. Zara Beats Collection Sequin Blazer - Last, but not least, the perfect Christmas Day/New Year blazer courtesy of Zara. Get on my body.

Colour Block

Jumper - Jonathan Saunders, PU Collar Shirt - ASOS, Jeans - H&M, Backpack Satchel - Cambridge Satchel Company, Boots - Aldo, Bolo Tie - Topman

Another of my fantastic sample sale finds is this Jonathan Saunders jumper from his Spring 2012 collection. It's such a gorgeous soft knit, and I love the colour blocking detail. Inspired by this I decided to carry on the colour blocking theme, sticking to shades of black and grey. Biker detailing is bang on trend, and these grey H&M jeans with black knee patches are such a fantastic find, giving a nod to the trend without being too over-powering. As I'm sure you will have noticed, I'm always a fan of leather, and this outfit is no exception to the rule, with the PU collar shirt, bolo tie, leather boots and my Cambridge satchel.

You're a Legend, Henry Holland

Denim Jacket - House of Holland, T-shirt - House of Holland, Shirt - H&M, Jeans - Topman, Socks - American Apparel, Creepers - Underground

I am officially in love with sample sales. I have been to quite a few recently and the bargains you can get are phenomenal. A couple of days ago I went to a group sample sale on Albemarle street featuring stock from Richard Nicoll, Peter Pilotto, Jonathan Saunders amongst many others. I managed to get myself an infamous House of Holland slogan tee from his 2006 collection (for only £5!) and a Levis Denim Jacket from his spring 2010 Collection. Looking to the 2010 collection for inspiration, I stuck to double denim, matching my jeans to the contrasting straps on the jacket. To smarten the outfit I wore a crisp clean white shirt underneath the t-shirt and finished the look with a white sock and my navy ponyskin creepers.

The Co-Ord

Paisley Blazer - ASOS, Paisley Shirt - ASOS, Jeans - Topman, Creepers - Underground, Patent Clutch - Topman, Black Chain - Topshop

Co-Ords are a massive trend that come back year after year, and are set to carry on from this season into the next. Just look to the Spring/Summer 14 collections of the likes of Dries Van Noten, Jil Sander and Kenzo to see that matching your prints will continue to be a big deal. So when I saw this Shirt and Jacket on sale at ASOS, I knew I had to have it! The woodblock paisley print is perfect for that east meets west vibe that is so big right now, and I love that the shirt is the inverted colourway of the jacket. To keep this look from looking too OTT I kept the rest of the outfit simple - Plain black jeans and my trusted black creepers. I accessorized with a patent clutch and a chunky black chain. Eye catching and perfectly smart.

3 Trends 3 Ways - Cable Knit, Tartan and Leather - Punk

Jumper - Topman AAA, T-Shirt - Illustrated People, Jacket - Topshop, Tartan Jeans - Topman, Dog Collar - Topshop, Boots - H by Hudson, Bootstraps - Topshop

Last post of my 3 Trends 3 Ways, and there's no way I could complete the trilogy without doing a punk inspired post. Punk dressing is the true originator of the whole knit, leather and tartan combo, and such a huge influence on this season's fashion. The key to this look is all in the accessories. Take away the dog collar and boot straps and the whole outfit becomes perhaps a lot more wearable (but a lot less fun). I'm trying not to post too many looks that are purely Topman or Topshop - but having had discount there for so long 90% of my wardrobe is Topman, so I need you to forgive me at least this once. Take inspiration and dress like a Punk this Autumn/Winter.

Baby It's Cold Outside

From Left to Right: H&M, Zara, River Island, Unconditional, Topman

I hate cold weather. HATE IT. So maybe it's no surprise that my favorite item of winter clothing is the winter coat. Everybody has one - maybe you have that one that comes out every year as soon as the cold snap begins, like a faithful friend who keeps you warm in the harsh weather. Maybe you treat yourself to a new one every year. Either way, it's difficult to survive a winter in London without one. Above are a few of my favorites from the high street this season. My love of 'hybrid' garments is clear in my selection, as almost every one has a nod to the biker jacket. The PU detail coat from H&M is an absolute bargain at only £50, but if you're looking for an investment piece, then the Unconditional one is for you. A bit pricier, but I love the Phillip Lim-esque detailing. The Topman one is also a strong contender, contrasting Navy and Black give this coat a strong Acne feel and make it look much more designer than high-street. I have already invested in my winter coat for this year (The Tartan one in my last post), but it won't stop me from lusting over these beauties!
