3 Trends 3 Ways - Cable Knit, Tartan and Leather - Smart

Coat - Topman, Jumper - The Ragged Priest, Long-line Shirt - H&M, PU Biker Trousers - Zara, Boots - H by Hudson, Necklace - Topshop

So for my second of my 3 ways to wear posts I decided to go for a smarter look. This is the kind of thing I would wear to work as it's comfortable enough to be running around or hauling mannequins, but smart enough to be on the shop floor. The Ragged Priest is a brand I have been in love with since I first encountered them while working in Topshop Cardiff. They started as a purely vintage brand, but they have now moved into making their own line of clothing. I have been inspired by Westwood in my styling, teaming my studded jumper with a long-line shirt and tartan overcoat. I finished the look with a statement necklace and my favorite black boots. Smart with a rebellious edge.

3 Trends 3 Ways - Cable Knit, Tartan and Leather - Casual

Jumper - The Ragged Priest, Shirt - The East End Thrift Store, Leather Jacket - Topshop, Jeans - Topman, Scarf - Urban Outfitters, Necklace - Topshop, Boots - Aldo

I have chosen my 3 favorite, and probably the biggest trends, for Autumn Winter, and decided to show you 3 ways to wear them. Cable knit and Leather are always massive Autumn Winter trends so these are things worth investing in as you'll be wearing them year after year. Tartan is also a major trend this season, and an easy way to make your outfit feel current by wearing one tartan key piece in your look. My first post of my 3 ways to wear is casual. This is such an easy and comfortable outfit to wear, perfect for a relaxing weekend chilling out with friends or going for a few casual drinks. The ripped jeans and studded leather give this look the really grungy feel I love, and the quirky necklace just makes the outfit me. A simple tartan scarf keeps the look modern and fresh. Keep an eye out for my next 2 looks, Smart and Punk.

I Love Isabel

Jumper - Isabel Marant for H&M, Jeans - Isabel Marant for H&M, Shirt - Topman, Fedora - Topman, Backpack Satchel - Cambridge Satchel Company, Creepers - Underground, Collar Tips - Topman

So last Thursday, on my way to work, I got myself a little green wristband from the security guard outside the building. At 9:40 I took my break and headed down to the H&M instore. There are definite perks to working at Selfridges. It was hard to control my spending urges! There were people frantically buying everything, queuing at the tills and leaving with insane amounts of grey tie dye canvas bags filled with copious amounts of the gorgeous Isabel Marant for H&M stock. Despite wanting much more, I just bought myself the monochrome chunky jumper (which completely sold out about 10 minutes after I bagged mine), and the black jeans with the embroidery stripe down the sides. I have basically lived in the jumper ever since. It's so comfy and warm, and super stylish. The jeans are fab too. Such a nice fit, and a perfect replacement for my jeans with the leather side stripes that recently ripped beyond repair. Here I have accessorized with by black fedora, a clean white shirt, beetle collar tips, my Cambridge satchel and black brothel creepers. These are two pieces I'm so very glad I invested in. I'm sure they will be staples in my wardrobe for a long time to come.

The Oversized Shirt

Vintage Shirt - Motel Vintage, PU Biker Trouser - Zara, Boots - H by Hudson, Stag Necklace - Topman

One of the biggest trends this Autumn/Winter is oversized fashion. The key to working the trend is to pair one oversized key piece, such as a shirt or crombie coat, with something fitted or tailored. Wear too many oversized pieces and you'll run the risk of looking like the Michelin man. This is a major trend to invest in as it is set to carry through to Spring/Summer 14, and being oversized it's a super comfortable trend to wear too! I love a good vintage print, and this shirt from Motel Vintage is one that immediately caught my eye. It's made from viscose so it hangs beautifully when on, and looks great with my faux leather biker style trousers. I kept this look simple, finishing it off with a chunky boot and a statement necklace. Perfect for days where I need to be practical for heavy lifting or dressing mannequins, but also smart enough for floor walks.

Vivienne Westwood Warehouse Sale

So I just received my confirmation email for the Vivienne Westwood warehouse sale! Very exciting news. I'm going to be going with 2 of my very fashionable friends and ex-colleagues. I love Westwoods rebellious design aesthetic, one of the true innovators of fashion and the bringer of punk to the upper classes. Above are a few of my favorite pieces from the Autumn/Winter collection. I really love the long-line shirts. Being 6ft 3 I often find clothes ride up and look too short on me, so a long line shirt is the perfect solution for me. Hopefully I will find some bargains, and I promise to post anything I buy!

Saint Laurent Inspired

Jeans - H&M, Stand Collar Shirt - River Island, Coat - Topman, Scarf - Zara, Fedora - Topman, Woven Leather Bag - Topman Lux, Boots - H by Hudson

Arguably, no Autumn/Winter menswear collection has had more of an impact on highstreet fashion than this seasons Saint Laurent collection. Hedi Slimanes debut menswear runway collection for the brand oozed a rockstar cool that has clearly inspired the Autumn Winter packages of the likes of Zara and Topman. Distressed denim and leather, wool and tartan combined with some laid back yet slick styling created a collection fit for a modern day Kurt Cobain. With so much stock on the highstreet referencing the collection it's a look that's really easy to put together without spending the Saint Laurent price tag. The piece that really pulls my look together is the statement tartan scarf from Zara. Tartan is such a huge trend this season, you can expect to see it in a many of my posts. It's also important to clash grungy and slick - putting a distressed jean with a crisp white shirt and clean wool overcoat. Now if only I could afford the real thing.....

He's a Workwearer

Dungarees - Topshop, White Oxford Shirt - Topman, Navy Skinny Blazer - Topman, White Socks - American Apparel, Navy Creepers - Underground, Skull Brooch - Topman

I really love the workwear trend. Dungarees and Boiler Suits made a major come back last season and they are still around this Autumn/Winter. They look so chic on women when worn with a simple white tee and a stiletto heel, but sometimes on men they can look a bit scruffy. Don't get me wrong, I love the whole 90's inspired look with a check shirt around the waist and some military boots, but for me that's a look that is no longer work appropriate. So to enable me to actually wear the workwear trend to work, I tend to style my dungarees with a clean white oxford shirt, and a smart blazer. Pair this with a clean white sock and my beautiful patent and pony hair creepers and you have a look that's on trend and work appropriate.

Isabel Marant for H&M

I do love a good high street collaboration, and Isabel Marant for H&M is one collaboration I certainly don't want to miss out on! The Parisian designer has channeled her trademark boho cool into an affordable collection that is true to her understated design aesthetic. Although the collection is mainly womenswear, she has, for the first time, designed a capsule collection of menswear that personally I cannot wait to cover my body with. I'm particularly excited about the gorgeous black and white mixed yarn knit, perfect for the winter months, and easily dressed up with a smart collared shirt, or down with a pair of ripped jeans and a leather biker. The collection launches on November 14th, and you will need a wristband to shop - see you in the queue!

This is Halloween

Black Roll Neck Top - H&M, PU Detail Blazer - Topman, Leather Trousers - Topman Design, Leather Harness - Topshop, Studded Man Clutch - Zara, Black Suede Creepers - Underground London

Ok, so I know Halloween is almost over, but I wanted to share this outfit while it's still fairly relevant. I love Halloween, and I'm truly gutted I didn't end up doing anything to celebrate it this year. So this outfit is my homage to the season of ghosts, ghouls and all things scary. As I'm sure you'll come to learn about me, I love leather and anything with a slight bondage twist within fashion, and so this studded leather harness from Topshop is one of my favourite things in my wardrobe. The leather doesn't end there as I teamed the harness with my Topman Design leather trousers, PU detail blazer and a studded man clutch. To complete the look I wore one of this seasons most important style details - the roll neck top. Perfect for winter dressing, adding a roll neck will make almost any outfit weather appropriate. Now to go have fun trick or treating.

Who Am I?

Hi! My name is Geraint, but nobody in London can pronounce that, hence the name of my blog. I am currently 24, living in London and working in fashion. I intend to use this blog to document my favourite fashion finds, styling tips and ideas, and anything else I find interesting that I think you will too. Enjoy reading!
