5 Ways To Wear - Sheer Bliss: Part 5

Shirt - JW Anderson, Shorts - JW Anderson, Vest - Topman, Fedora - Topman, Socks - H&M, Boots - H by Hudson, Backpack - Topman

Ahhhh! I've been stuck on night shifts launching the new store scheme in blog - I am absolutely knackered. Luckily I am now back on days, and this means I can finally post the final part of my 5 ways to wear, and I'm certainly excited to post this one! A few weeks ago I went to the J W Anderson sample sale, and managed to bag myself THE black sheer floral shirt from his S/S13 collection. You may recall I posted about it in my fantasy Christmas list in December. I LOVE IT. I also managed to get a pair of black shorts from the same collection for just £20, and I'm pretty sure they are the actual ones used in the show, because they had a models name written on the inside. I decided to stay true to the aesthetic of the collection and keep the styling fairly androgynous, pairing the shirt with the shorts and adding a fedora. To ensure the look had a more masculine edge I accessorized with chunky boots and an oversized leather backpack. So here ends my catwalk inspired 5 ways to wear sheer menswear - Sports Luxe, Grunge, Edgy, Avant Garde and Androgynous. I can gurantee this won't be the last time you see me rock the sheer look though!

5 Ways To Wear - Sheer Bliss: Part 4

T-Shirt -, Harness - Topshop, Trousers - Zara, Boots - Aldo, Bootstraps - Topshop, Beanie - Topman, Backpack - Cambridge Satchel Company

So this is a post I can guarantee my mother is going to hate. are doing an amazing job of sheer menswear - 3 of my 5 posts feature a piece from Boohoo! I really love the square neckline and the soft cotton mesh of this t-shirt - it really reminded me of Issey Miyake's current collection. Inspired by this I decided to go down bit of an edgy route with the styling. I layered a Zana Bayne-esque harness from Topshop under the t-shirt, and wore my Yohji Yamamoto style trousers from Zara. I wanted to maintain a boyish edge to the look, so I accessorized with a black beanie, backpack and chunky black boots. Certainly not the kind of thing I would wear everyday, but more of a catwalk inspired look I might keep for the weekends - ha!

Also, if you enjoy reading my blog, just another reminder to nominate for the 'Best Male Style Blogger' award here. Muchas Gracias!

5 Ways To Wear - Sheer Bliss: Part 3

Shirt - Christopher Kane, Sheer Bomber -, Jeans - Zara, Creepers - Underground

I've been waiting so long for the perfect opportunity to blog this shirt! I bought it a few months ago at a Christopher Kane sample sale in the Music Rooms. It's from his last spring summer collection, and has a beautiful painterly roses print. I decided it was perfect to be part of my 5 ways to wear sheer post because I wanted to pair it with something that didn't cover up the print, and this organza bomber from boohoo is absolutely perfect for doing just that! This bomber is amazing - I can't believe it's only £15. Organza is so on trend this season for menswear, and it reminds me of the organza biker jacket Kane designed for his current season. Once again inspired by Kane, I wore a pair of ripped up jeans that look like the ones he designed exclusively for the launch of the denim studio in Selfridges. So if you want to do sheer properly - look to Christopher Kane for inspiration and you won't go wrong.

5 Ways To Wear - Sheer Bliss: Part 2

Mesh Sweatshirt - Boohoo, Vest - Topman, Leather Jacket - Topshop, Jeans - H&M, Shirt - River Island, Boots - Aldo, Beanie - Topman

The second part of my five ways to wear features this absolutely spot on mesh sweatshirt from I really love how its made from more of a net than an airtex type fabric, meaning that it doesn't necessarily have to look sporty if styled up with a smart shirt and blazer. For this look I decided to go in the complete opposite direction and totally channel a pure 90's grunge look. I wore a number print vest under the sweatshirt, and layered my oversized biker jacket on top. Some bleached out jeans and chunky biker boots kept the look grunge, and it wouldn't be a 90's look without a check flannel shirt tied around my waist. I kept the accessories minimal and grungy, with just a black beanie. I really miss dressing like this for work - some days you just don't want to look smart!

5 Ways To Wear - Sheer Bliss: Part 1

Shirt - River Island, Bomber Jacket - River Island, Trousers - Zara, Shoes - Topman, Chain - Topshop

I'm sorry its been so long since I last blogged - I have just moved flat and therefore have limited internet access. I do, however, have a fantastic '5 ways to wear' ready and waiting to be posted! This first of which features this absolutely amazing mesh bomber jacket from River Island's RI Studio range. I am so very in love with the sheer trend, and this Airtex bomber is a fantastic interpretation of it! I wore it to work and had so many compliments. The shirt is also from the RI Studio collection, and has a really premium feel thanks to the mao collar, longer length and really flattering panelling. Inspired by the jacket, my first way to wear is a sports luxe look. I teamed the shirt and jacket with my leather biker style trousers, and some white soled loafers - a sports inspired shoe that isn't a full blown trainer! I accessorized with a chunky silver chain to give the look a bit more of a street-edge. I love the jacket so much, I'm already planning summer outfits for it with printed shirts and shorts. Lets pray for shorts weather soon!
