Intercity Safari

Shirt - Zara, Roll Neck Top - H&M, Shorts - J W Anderson, Shoes - Flossy, Snapback - Urban Outfitters, Socks - Topman

Oh the weather has turned! But I'm not ready to give up the shorts - especially after seeing all the Spring-Summer 2015 menswear collections! At least it's still warm despite being wet and over-cast. Khaki silk is going to be one of the 'it' fabrics for spring/summer 2015, so when I saw this shirt in the Zara sale, I knew it would be the perfect investment piece. Inspired by Juun J, I paired a roll neck top with super short shorts, and then layered the shirt over the top. I've wanted a pair of slides for a while, but hadn't found a pair I felt was really 'me'. These white ones by Flossy shoes are great because they have the added benefit of having a strap across the heel, helping to keep them attached to your feet. I'm still loving the whole socks and sandals thing, so I wore Khaki socks balancing out the Khaki of the shirt, and my leather snapback finishes the look.

Suited and Booted

Shirt - Alasdair, Jacket - Topman, Trousers - Sparks, Socks - American Apparel, Boots - Topman

I'm not wearing black! Amazing right?! I've ventured into those really bright colours white and grey haha! So I really love the purity trend that's so big for Spring/Summer 15, but I'm yet to find the perfect all white outfit. I think pairing white with light grey is a good start, and gives a nod to the trend without being too in your face. The unusual cut and crisp whiteness of the shirt is perfect piece for the trend, as it's all about looking stark and clinical. I'm technically not wearing a suit, as the trousers and jacket are from two different brands, but they are made from the exact same fabric so it looks like they were designed to go together as a suit. I decided to wear the jacket over my shoulders so that it didn't ruin the shape of the shirt. White boots were pretty much my only choice of shoe to go with this outfit - They keep the look light and white, and add an extra grungy element that makes the outfit more me.

Gym Class Goth

Sweat - Boohoo, Top - Oak, Shorts - Rabbithole London, Socks - American Apparel, Sandals - Dr Martens, Holdall - Unknown (Gift)

As I'm sure you might have guessed, I was never the athletic type in school. I was definitely more of a geek, but I did go through bit of a goth phase, which I think has stuck with me a bit. These days fashion inspiration comes from everywhere, and reminiscing over school days inspired me to put together this look. It's bit of a 90's throwback, clashing gothic black with a sportswear feel. I removed the sleeves from my boohoo zip sleeve sweat and layered it over the Oak top I blogged a few weeks ago - this time worn with the long part at the back. I combined this with my Rabbithole PU shorts and pulled together the sportswear/goth/nerd influences with socks and sandals and a big PU holdall. I realize I post far too much black, but I really can't help it - I'm just really drawn to all black at the moment. I'll stop wearing it when they invent a darker colour ;) haha.

Blitz Selfie

So I didn't win the Blitz Street Style Competition, however, a couple of weeks ago I did win the Blitz Instagram Selfie competition and not only got myself featured on the Blitz blog, but also a £50 voucher to spend in-store! Winning! You can read my full Interview on their blog here.

So these are the trousers that won me the competition - I posted them as part of my Long Laidback Summer look a couple of weeks ago. Here I have styled them with a denim gilet also from Blitz Vintage, White Boots and a White tank.

I bought two things with my voucher - Both from the Blitz Remix range. I always have difficulty finding vintage clothes that fit me (I don't think many people were 6ft 3 in the olden days!), So Blitz Remix is great if you want to put a modern twist on vintage clothing, and find something that is pretty much guaranteed to fit! I really like the cute little pocket made from vintage fabric on this sweat - it adds a little bit of interest, and no two will ever be alike! Although you can't see in the photo, I styled this with my Rabbithole London PU shorts and black leggings, and wore my Dr Martens sandals.

Another classic style updated with a vintage fabric twist, This baseball tee with a tropical print number eight is perfect for that pacific sports look that has been so big this summer. Channeling the laidback feel of the tee I styled this with my leather snapback, ripped black jeans and white sandals - which will make a proper appearance in forthcoming looks. This tee is super comfy, and great for casual weekends milling around east London.

Highstreet Edit

It's going to be a tight month this month, and so I'm having to do more window shopping than actual shopping *sob*. Just for you, here is my edit of all the best menswear finds across the Highstreet at the moment.

H&M  - Mesh Tee, White Bomber Jacket, Zip Shoulder Sweat, Printed Sleeve Denim Jacket, Cotton Baseball Shirt, Black Longline Shirt
H&M is having a proper sportswear moment right now, and sporty detailing is popping up across pretty much their whole collection. The mesh tee is made from a really cool structured mesh and has a really nice boxy silhouette, making it a bit edgier than your standard mesh tee. I also really love the glossy stripe detailing on the black denim jacket, giving it that extra something special, instead of just your usual boring denim jacket.

Zara - Drape Front Shirt, Faux Leather Backpack, Faux Leather Biker Trousers, Black Poncho, Leather Structured Clutch, Felt Snapback, Leather and Neoprene Biker, Zip Knee Trousers

Can you tell I'm obsessed with black at the moment? And I'm not the only one with Zara launching it's 'darkness' collection (If you hadn't guessed it's VERY inspired by Rick Owens Drk Shdw). Zara does, however, have some pretty fantastic and highly covetable black pieces at the moment. That drape front shirt and drapey poncho are draped amazingness. I would totally pair them with some of the more structured pieces like the neoprene sleeve biker and the leather clutch.

Topman - White Turtleneck Jumper, Leather Shirt, Grid Turtleneck Jumper, White Sheer Tank, Longline Bomber, Puritan Hat, White Leather Biker

The majority of this list is actually by one of Topmans concession brands - Selected Homme. Their Autumn/Winter collection is beautiful, The turtleneck jumpers are without doubt the essential winter wardrobe staple. And the leather shirt is beyond perfection. I'm also head over heels in love with the white leather jacket - I wear so much black this would be such a refreshing update for my wardrobe.

Blitz Street Style Event

So on Sunday I popped into Blitz, and was photographed by the very talented Hasina Hoque from Street Forma. My photograph is now part of a competition, in which the photo with the most likes on Facebook wins £100 to spend in-store! So please please please like my photo here.

Shirt - Topman, Tee - TTYA, Jeans - Zara, Boots - Topman, Hat - Comme Des Garcons Comme Des Garcons, Bag - Topman

I decided to channel bit of a skater grunge look, but with a luxe edge - The luxe edge of course being my BEAUTIFUL Comme Des Garcons Comme Des Garcons felt puritan hat. It's barely left my head since I bought it. The shirt was an absolute bargain - £10 in the Topman sale! I really like the check pattern (it almost perfectly matches the wide-leg trousers I blogged a couple of weeks ago that I also got from Blitz - co-ord post maybe?!). It's also super versatile, as it can be worn casually as in the look above, and I've also already worn it in work buttoned up as part of a smarter look. I decided to just button up the top button and layer it over a longer length white tee. I balanced out the white tee with my white Dr Martens style boots, and no skater look is complete without ripped jeans. I continued the skater edge with my leather backpack, which is great for Sunday shopping - plenty of room for my camera and my purchases! So if you like my look, please like the photo on Facebook and help me win £100 to spend in Blitz!
