I was looking through the Autumn/Winter menswear collections the other day, to get some styling inspiration for work, and managed to inspire myself in the process. This look is heavily influenced by the styling of the Dior Homme show. I love how denim was clashed with formal tailoring, to give a fantastic mix of textures and and an extra bit of edge to what could otherwise be a very bland, all be it smart, look. I'm not normally a tie fan, but I felt this outfit really needed it to give that full on clash of smart and casual. I am very lucky to say that, now that I work for Joseph, I am entitled to a uniform allowance, and amongst the items I decided upon getting were these beautiful Prince of Wales check suit trousers. I also got the matching blazer, which I will be shooting soon! The pattern adds an extra element to the look, and pattern played such a key part within the Dior collection I knew I wanted to incorporate it within this look somehow. I kept my accessories clean and minimal , in-keeping with the feel of the look. So who says denim can't be smart?
