Last week I have been lucky enough to get invited to a few Spring/Summer Press Days, getting to view (and touch!) the Spring/Summer collections in real life before they hit the marked next year.
You may recall Task PR very kindly gifted me some black Kneee High socks by Item M6 a couple of months ago, well they invited me to see the rest of the brands they have on offer, and believe you me there are some beauts. Item M6 is still going strong and are back for the summer with a brighter range including emerald green, coral and pale blue, intended to give a pop of colour to your suit. As I'm sure you've realized, I've been a bit shoe obsessed recently, so it was a delight to see some really fantastic mens footwear on display. Carlo Pazolini has some fantastic mens shoe styles that I would love to have on my feet, my favoutite being the black monk strap shoe with blue and white detailing. I love that small pop of colour that adds a bit of interest, and the chunky sole. Storm watches also caught my eye, but not because of their watches, but because of a really cool pair of geometric cufflinks that should be living on my wrist right now!
On the same day, I also rushed off to Sane PR's spring/summer press day, which was located in East London. Sane PR represent some of my favourite designers and brands, the star of which, for me, has to be Alan Taylor. I discovered his work when he was chosen as one of Selfridges 'Bright Young Things', and I was lucky enough to wear one of his suits during my photoshoot for the Shopcade Stylebattle. His Spring/Summer collection is another level, with gorgeous deconstructed suoting and bold graphic prints. I was also very impressed with Tourne De Transmission, a brand set up by the owner of Sane Pr. More stunning graphic prints inspired by modernist art, which all had a fantastic rubberized feel on the garments. These were paired with perfect plain separates that should be a staple in every mans wardrobe. A few other pieces that stood out were a really cool white backpack from Mi Pac, and some fantastic Jackets by Samsøe & Samsøe. There were also some interesting silhouettes by the Carrier Company, and some gorgeous pieces by Our Legacy. Sane PR don't only represent clothing brands though, and this season they have taken on Marshall Amps, which I was told could be used for fashion shoots - awesome idea!
Last, but not least, Last Saturday I joined one of my favourite bloggers, Lilly Jo Cullen of Fashion Scholar for her birthday and the launch of her new label Vintage Licks. The collection includes fresh faced vintage inspired street wear, and is a combination of homemade items and customized pieces. My favourite piece was the white faux fur jumper with some really gorgeous paneling detail on one sleeve, and I was really impressed with the pink knitted jumper (as I can't knit to save my life, despite years of trying, and Lily managed to create it in less than a day!). She has shot a perfectly styled lookbook to support the collection and is currently selling selected pieces of Asos Marketplace here. Check out my photos from the launch night below.
