Forget the famous Game of Thrones quote 'Winter is coming', Winter is most certainly here. With that in mind I felt it was time to upgrade my black winter coat. My Topman one has served me well, but I've had it over two years now and it's starting to look a bit scruffy and it's falling apart. Luckily for me I went to a Vivienne Westwood sample sale the other day and managed to pick up this absolute bargain, reduced from £1220 to just £100! Amazing right?!?! And it's absolutely beautiful. It's made from a luxurious wool and has a gorgeous black and white check lining that makes it extra special. I've barely taken it off since buying it. For this look I wanted to focus on the oversized shape of the coat and play around with proportions. My grey Sparks high waisted trousers are the perfect piece to do this with, and I picked up the monochrome detailing of the coat lining by pairing them with a white shirt and black jumper. I carried this through with my choice of socks and shoes. To complete the look I wore round metal rimmed sunglasses to shield my eyes from the harsh winter sun. One of the best things about living in London is the sample sales so always keep an eye out because they're well worth going to!
