Another highly successful day spent at Fashion Week. Today I had to be up realllllly early because I had tickets to the Kiev Fashion Days Autumn/Winter showcase, which started at 10:30am. The showcase featured three designers - Anna K, Pentatonika and Dinara Nurlan. All three designers had a very different aesthetic and attitude towards fashion. Anna K's collection was sickly-sweet, combining brightly colored patches with metallics and girly detailing. Totally not my thing at all, but I guess some people would like it. Pentatonica was a much more exciting collection for me. I loved the subtle lilac-grey colour palette and the beautiful drape of the garments. There were so many pieces I could see bridging the gap between womenswear and menswear, that I would love to wear myself. The collection was inspired by loneliness, specifically the loneliness felt when living in a big city (something I'm sure plenty of Londoners can relate to). There was also a beautiful contrast of textures - soft chiffons were paired with cashmere and cotton. I also liked pieces within the final collection by Dinara Nulan. The second look was a particular favourite - a traditional parka updated with an all-over branch print. This collection also experimented with textures, and there were some beautiful knit pieces. You can see my photos from the show below. After the show I headed back to Somerset House to do the usual blogger thing of networking and getting papped. I met lots of lovely bloggers and photographers today who I hope to stay in touch with. I decided to channel the wide leg trouser trend, and opted for my Zara wide leg leather trousers, which I paired with a plain off-white roll neck and my grey felt Berthold waistcoat. The DIY bag made a re-appearance, and I finished the whole thing off with my Comme Des Garcons Comme Des Garcons fedora and Matthew Miller Shoes. When leaving the house I was cold, but felt ok. By about 12, the weather took a serious turn for the worse and I had to head home shortly after for fear of freezing to death! So to anybody who took my photo today, I apologize if I look blue in any of your photos - Next time I'm wearing more LAYERS!
