His Name Is Captain

Blazer - Topman, Tee - Topman, Jeans - Acne, Boots - Dr Martens, Bag - Cambridge Satchel Co, Hat - Topman

Last week I had the honor of being invited to the launch of the new book Nautical Chic by Amber Jane Butchart. The launch party was held in the Blues Kitchen in Shoreditch, and had copious amounts of free rum! I wanted to put together a nod to nautical for the event, without looking too over-the top. After deciding nothing in my wardrobe was suitable, I managed to find a couple of bargains in Topman that I felt were perfect. The striped tee is a nautical staple, and much more me in the black and white combo rather than the traditional white and navy. It's also an absolute bargain at £10 (full price!). The other bargain was this grey deconstructed blazer that I found on the sale rail for a mere £35. I have worn it so much since buying it, it's certainly become a versatile welcome addition to my wardrobe. Carrying on with the deconstructed vibe, I paired the two with my slouchy Acne Jeans. I accessorized with my Dr Martens (that somebody asked whether they were Givenchy the other day!) and Cambridge Satchel which I used as a clutch. I completed the look with my trusty black fedora.
