His Name Is Introversion

Shirt - c/o OPEN, Top - Stella McCartney, Trousers - Topman, Shoes - Underground

Another designer inspired outfit post, this time inspired by one of my favorite Spring/Summer collections. Matthew Miller called his Spring/Summer collection 'Introversion' and claimed it was a response to the hopelessness of war. The collection re-imagined the pinstripe suits given to ex-army men after World War II, into silhouettes suitable for the modern man. Last week I went to the Stella McCartney sample sale and grabbed this gorgeous pinstripe top for an absolute bargain. I knew immediately I wanted to put together a Matthew Miller inspired post using the top - The V neck and pinstripe really closely reference the collection. I kept the overall look fairly smart by layering the top over a crisp white shirt and pairing with smart black trousers. I had planned to wear my slip on shoes with this look, to replicate the styling of the show, but I felt my creepers made the look smarter. A big part of the styling in the show was the use of floral necklaces and bracelets (not very practical in real life, but beautiful), so to reference this I shot the look at the National Botanical Gardens, surrounding myself with flowers. I really love this look, and can see myself wearing it a lot, as it's a really smart yet practical look for work. Also, next time there is a Stella McCartney sample sale I highly recommend you go - so many bargains to be had!
