His Name Is Magic

Dress - The Freak Show, Kimono - c/o Rokit, Jeans - Nudie Jeans c/o Woodhouse Clothing, Hat - Topman, Shoes - Topman, Belt - Topshop

I'm starting to have second thoughts about the decision to move to Brixton. When I left my house wearing this outfit the other day, somebody decided to heckle me from their white van shouting 'Alright Harry Potter?!'. A. If anything I look more like Draco Malfoy, and B. What gives someone the right to heckle someone on the street for the way they're dressed?! As soon as I arrived in Brick Lane I felt like I was being welcomed with open arms, with people complimenting me on what I was wearing, and one girl even took my photograph for a project on Identity. They say Brixton is getting better, but it's definitely not there yet. Either way, it's not going to stop me from dressing the way I want to dress, and if anything I pity them for being so closed minded. Anyway, rant over, back to the fashion. Personally, I love this outfit, and I felt great wearing it. The dress is by one of my favorite brands - The Freak Show. It has an amazing drape and I love the way it 'swishes'. I decided to wear it as a long top over a pair of jeans, and then layered my plain black kimono over it to give the look volume. While playing around with the styling I tried belting the kimono, and I really liked the shape it gave the jacket. I finished the look with my 'go-to' accessories - black fedora and cut-out shoes, both from Topman. So if there is one thing you take away from this post it should be this - Wear what makes you happy, dress for yourself and nobody else.
