Tee - c/o Boohoo, Jacket - Zara, Kilt - Topshop, Socks - Cos, Shoes - Topman, Necklace - Borderline Apparel
For years women have been borrowing clothes from Mens wardrobes. Well now it's time for men to start borrowing from the women. I was having bit of an existential outfit crisis when I discovered this skirt my friend had bought herself in the Topshop sale. OBVIOUSLY I had to borrow it. The design is based on a traditional mens kilt so I kinda feel like in reclaiming something that was originally men's anyway. Either way, clothes have no gender of their own so who cares if this was designed for men or women, all that matters is whether it looks good, and in my personal opinion, this skirt looks damn good on me. I threw it on with a black oversized tee and smart black blazer. When I saw the Orphan Bird lookbook, I was obsessed with the sheer sock they used in the styling. I managed to find this pair in Cos, and they look great with my Topman cutout shoes. To toughen the look I added my metal collar necklace from Borderline Apparel. So next time you have no idea what to wear just try raiding your best friends wardrobe!
