His Name Is #LFW Day 3

Blazer - Joseph
Roll Neck - H&M
Socks - H&M
Shoes - Dr Martens

Day 3 of Fashion Week for me was technically Day 4, as I didn't do anything fashion week related on the Sunday. This was the day of the Joseph fashion show, so even though I had tickets to a few other shows, I couldn't go because I had to be in work. Of course, working at the Joseph fashion show meant that I just had to wear something Joseph. Luckily I managed to get myself some uniform on the Friday before, so I had a selection of things to choose from to wear. Even though the felt blazer I blogged about a few weeks ago was never put into production, there is still a great selection of felt pieces in the Joseph Autumn/Winter collection. I chose two such pieces, one of which I decided to wear at the show. This blazer has such a great shape and I love the chunky zip detailing. Inspired by the Joseph Autumn/Winter collection I paired the blazer with these amazing military wool trousers I found on Asos by Reclaimed Vintage. You know I can't ever wear too much colour haha, so everything else I wore was of course black. A simple black roll neck and black Dr Martens shoes complete the look.

So I think this was one of the longest days I have ever worked. Starting at 8 am, and not finishing until midnight, I had to be around just in case I was needed to assist with the fashion show in any way. In the end, there wasn't actually much I could assist with. I helped fold press releases and stuff them into envelopes, and help with the transportation of the collection to and from the venue. The show itself, however, was not a let down. The venue was amazing. Located in the Hayward gallery, the small space was transformed into a beautiful venue with mirrored walls and a solid oak catwalk with raw edges. Two triangular benches situated in the center of the room divided the space. The collection itself was a beautiful selection of deconstructed garments, completely owning tying in all forms. My favorite pieces including a maxi striped shirt dress and some fantastic belted pieces featuring d ring straps, taking the collection full circle. After the show I had to pack up the backstage area and get the collection back to the showroom, where I had to get the collection merchandised ready for the Wholesale campaign. So that's fashion week over for me for another season. Can't honestly say I enjoyed fashion week this season, but I can only hope next season will be a much more enjoyable experience.

  1. Their manager rocks! Thanks to their great team, I'm so happy I choose Chicago event venues for my event! I had a great time here and think the atmosphere is as good as it gets. I will be astonished if I ever find a negative review on these guys.
