Working alongside the British Fashion Council, River Island commission carefully selected designers each season to create limited edition collections. Titled the 'Design Forum', the collection aims to provide a platform for exciting design talent by bringing exclusive, limited edition pieces which push the boundaries of fashion on the high street. Since its launch in 2012, some of my absolute favorite designers have taken part in the initiative, including Tom Lipop, Katie Eary, Joseph Turvey, and  James Long. This season the privilege has been awarded to Christopher Shannon, and the lovely people at River Island have been kind enough to gift me a few pieces from the collection, my favorite of which I am wearing on the outfit above! Christopher Shannon designed the collection with the modern city guy in mind (which is what I guess I am these days!), with a good dose of 90's style thrown in. He described the collection as 'Post-party and slightly tough'. The great thing about this collection is that not only the quality of design, but also of the garments themselves. The sweatshirt is made from the softest cotton jersey, and is so comfy it's like wearing a hug. Inspired by the styling of the accompanying fashion film, which was unveiled at the LC:M BFC Fashion Film screening event, I layered a white roll neck under the sweatshirt. I love the sports-luxe vibe of the collection, but wanted the look to stay true to my own personal style, so I paired the top half with my man-skirt-come-leggings from Borderline, and white boots. I completed the sporty vibe with a backpack. I wore this outfit to go shopping with my friend Charlotte yesterday. We had planned to go to the Moschino sample sale, but like complete idiots we somehow managed to get the day wrong. I'm sure my bank account thanks me for that! Anyway, check out the Christopher Shannon Design Forum collection here, and watch the fashion film below.
