Highstreet Edit

I have been trying so hard to resist my spending urges, but the highstreet has so many amazing pieces on offer at the moment I don't know how much longer I can hold out! With that in mind, here are my absolute most-coveted pieces from a few highstreet favourites.

Zara: Oversized Coat, Belt Bag, Seamed Sweatshirt, Sunglasses, Check Coat, Leather Boots with Track Sole, Trousers with Overlaid Skirt, Long Length Blazer
The first and most surprising thing about my highstreet edit this time around, is that it contains a lot more colour than I usually go for. I don't know what it is, but all the rich autumnal colours are making me want to brighten up my wardrobe. And my colour of choice from Zara right now has to be petrol blue. I love the shape and colour of the Oversized coat, and I think it would look great with the Track Sole Boots, which have a petrol blue sole that would perfectly compliment the colour of the coat. A slightly more subtle alternative, however, would be the check coat, which just has a hint of blue. Other winners come from the Dark Collection, including the Seamed Sweatshirt (which totally looks like one by one of my favourite brands at the moment - Vetements), The Long Length Blazer, and the absolutely amazing Man Skirt - I'm so happy that highstreep stores are finally embracing the man skirt.

New Look - Textured Check Blazer, Light Brown Roll Neck, Ripped Jeans, Pinstripe Bomber, Grey Fedora, Camel Overcoat, Ombre Crew Neck Jumper, Grandad Neck Shirt
New Look is really shining in terms of menswear at the moment, having just opened it's first standalone menswear store, New Look is nailing the wardrobe staples that all men need in their wardrobe, at incredible reasonable prices, mixed with a few fashion pieces with a modern twist. Camel is always a big autumnal color, and you can't get better than a good roll neck jumper and wool overcoat. Also bang on the money is the ripped knee black jeans, textured check blazer and grandad neck shirt - all things everybody should have in their wardrobe. Delivering a more fashion forward look, the pinstripe bomber is a great layering piece, and the shape of the fedora reminds me of the Saint Laurent fedoras from last season.

River Island - Grey Duster Coat, Zip Backpack, Ripped Sid Jeans, Biker Mac, Design Forum Boots, Turtle Neck Tee, Sleeveless Jacket, Fingerless Gloves
My sincerest apologies to all the other highstreet stores featured, but River Island is by far my favourite menswear store right now. They are getting menswear spot on and I'm loving it. I already have the duster coat in black, and now it is available in a beautiful putty grey colour - so tempting! An equally great layering piece is the sleeveless jacket, something I could see myself wearing again and again, and would look great layered over the turtle neck tee. The boots are part of the Christopher Shannon for River Island Design Forum collection, which as you will know I was gifted a sweatshirt from, which I blogged about a few days ago. It's such a cool collection you should definitely check it out. Accessories at River Island are equally great, I'm all over the zip backpack and fingerless gloves.

Topman - Denim Boilersuit, Lux Twill biker, Rust Roll Neck, Wide Leg Crop Jeans, Leather Biker, Lux Twill Shorts, Black Fedora, Rust Overcoat
Old faithful Topman is still doing everything it can to keep up with the ever-changing world of menswear. The Lux collection is still going strong, and the biker and shorts are a couple of great pieces that are now a bargain as they have just gone into the sale! My favourite colour right now is rust, and Topman is delivering the goods with a staple roll neck and overcoat (also two of my favorite things right now!). Topman has also just launched it's 'This Is Denim' campaign, providing the essential fits and colours of jeans and denim pieces all wardrobes need. My favourites have to be the wide-leg crop - such an awesome fit, reminding me of my Acne jeans that I wear all the time, and the boiler suit - definitely something that needs to be brought back for Autumn/Winter. Another champion of the flat top fedora, Topman's comes with a great feather detail that would compliment my favourite.

H&M - Longline Shirt, Hole Pattern T-shirt, Double Face Overcoat, Wool Hat, Check Longline Shirt, Chunky Knit Jumper, Grey Over-Shirt, Leather Backpack
Last, but by no means least, H&M, and it's stunning Autumn/Winter collection. The amazing styling of their Autumn/Winter lookbook really caught my eye, and the collection is certainly not disappointing. The grey overcoat was tied around waists in the lookbook, which looked awesome, bit it's an equally amazing piece worn in it's intended purpose as a coat. H&M are doing a great job with another of my favourite trends - longline. The black and check shirts are much longer than supposed longline pieces from other highstreet retailers, making them look really designer. You can't go wrong with a great chunky knit, and can we please take a moment to talk about that hat - Can you say Vivienne Westwood much?!
